Want to learn new skills for walking in the hills or perfect the ones you have. Will cater for all abilities and help you improve you packing, navigation, knowledge of the environment and more to make you more confident out in the countryside

About the trip

Meet in the car park for a brief introduction and to discuss more what you want to get out of the day
Go through what we need in the hiker's rucksac
Head out on the hill
The day will be tailored to your needs but we can cover some of the following: the hill environment, equiptment to take, using a map and compass, more advanced navigation, low visibility, pacing and timing, planning a route, access, food for the hills, being prepared, first aid scenarios, the weather, steep ground, moving from hills to mountains, flora and fauna, being a responsible walker, how to gain more experience, taking others, useful courses, where to find out more.
We'll have lunch out on the hill and aim to get back down for a short debrief and any final questions
