A classic introduction to scrambling. Rock Scrambling is graded 1 to 3, with 3 being the hardest. We will climb grade 1 scrambles on this trip.

About the trip

Starting gently following the natural route along valley level this hike draws you into the heart of the Carneddau.
Soon enough the journey takes a sharp turn upwards, steeply climbing a loose track until the ground becomes firmed and the rock more substantial under foot.
This is where the scrambling adventure begins, becoming more technical and as we gain height more inspiring.
The views stretch all the way to the sea and beyond capturing Yns Môn (Anglesey).
After a relatively short climb the summit of Carnedd Dafydd is achieved and the effort is greatly rewarded ... a stop to enjoy a hot drink and photo opportunity at the cairn is more than welcome.
Finally, we will begin the descent back down a much easier route following the same valley but with a birds eye view this time.
