Journeying Total Distance – 73 Miles
Our Great Glen Way Adventure Journey begins in Fort William. We travel by bike from Neptune’s Staircase, the start of the Caledonian Canal
The next part of the Great Glen Way Adventure will be undertaken in traditional open Canadian canoes, from South Lagan up the Caledonian Canal and passing the monument of the Well Of The Seven Heads with its dark murderous past.
Straight on to the daunting site of Loch Ness stretching further than the eye can see. Don’t worry – you’ll soon reach land again as we’ll be traveling in sea kayak.
Our final day of the Great Glen Way Advtenture! And a day of diversity as we leave Drumnadrochit and its castle behind and travel to the small cosmopolitan city of Inverness (Capital of the Highlands).

Itinerary
DAY 1
We mountain bike from Fort William along the Great Glen Way to Laggan lochs where we set up camp for the night. There is a wonderful local restaurant we can visit (the Eagle Barge Inn)

DAY 2
we canoe from here up the caledonian canal across Loch Oich passing the well of the seven heads and back onto the canal or river Oich (water level dependant) finishing the day in Fort Augustus at the start of Loch Ness. There are many local restaurants to choose from for dinner here.
Accommodation: We stay at Morags Hostel tonight with an onsite bar.

DAY 3
We sea kayak up Loch Ness to make camp at Drumnadrochit passing the castle where we get a stunning view from the waterside. The Loch Ness Inn nearby serves wonderful seafood for dinner should people wish.

DAY 4
We sea kayak the rest of Loch Ness and then swap into canoes to paddle down the river Ness to finish by Inverness castle. We then head up to the castle for the official end point of the adventure journey stopping for a pint in the Inn directly opposite.
